Dear Christa – I heard Natalie Grant sing live your amazing lyrics to Held at a Women of Faith event in Washington, DC this Saturday. Little did I know I would come to the office this morning to find an e-mail about a work colleague whose 10-month old daughter died over the weekend. I’m praying for the Spirit’s guidance to help me find a way to share your song — and was moved to find out more about the story behind the lyrics.

Those of us who have a firm foundation of faith can have it so shaken when tragedy strikes – but can take comfort in knowing and feeling that we’re held. But what of those with no or little faith? How do we help them find that comfort? Years ago two of my best friends from college lost infants in the same year — one lost two of her triplets the week before they were due, one lost her son at 6 months – he was born with birth defects. Neither really felt “Held” and I felt so inadequate in my attempts to share my faith and firm belief in the resurrection. It has been my constant prayer that they would find that healing and conviction. So – may the Lord continue to bless you with the inspiration to write such lyrics and I pray somehow that by sharing the lyrics with them – and asking for their guidance in how to reach out and comfort my work colleague, that the Spirit will work as only He can to help them feel held – even after all these years.

thank you for using your gift of singing/songwriting to bring glory to God & great joy & peace to many people. Your songs have really encouraged me. Just wondering though where i can buy copies of your CDs (i’m english and can only find american sellers online!) would love to actually own the cds instead of always having to listen online. I would like to play the songs to my family and in the car ect ect…. anyway thanks again God bless u & your ministry. Jude xxxx

In uncovering the wonder of His life and love for us all thru the poetic words of you and Ann V I am amazed at how His tapestry of threads come together in such a beautiful pattern of life! Your CD has been played constantly the last few weeks. I am in a dark place, and it brings flickers of hope. I am trying to face up to the child abuse of my past, and it seems like it would be easier to stay numb instead.
