I just want to wish you a very merry Christmas. I know Christmas Day was yesterday, but I have this thing about celebrating aaaaaaall week after Christmas Day! To me, the idea of it all coming to a close the minute presents have been opened seems very consumer-driven and just a little depressing. I mean, really, the days leading up to Christmas Day are so busy with preparation, I feel I am only now able to take it all in, the beauty of the season. In my mind, it is right and good to consider Christmas Eve the kick-off to the Great Celebration which continues through New Year's Eve (this also has historical and traditional roots, of course)...these are the days where all the work of preparation pays off, and we get to BE together. Really BE.
So, with that said, I'm signing off to enjoy my family some more. I hope you'll be doing the same, whether you're with family or friends...remembering that no matter how precarious or difficult things may be or seem to be--there is always Reason to celebrate. Hope was born, and He is alive.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
